Actions for Diversity (2025)

Intercultural dialogue actions organised by ALF Swedish members to promote diversity and more inclusive societies.

In the framework of Celebrating Our Diversity programme, the Anna Lindh Foundation network in Sweden launched the second edition of Actions for Diversity funding opportunity to its network members to implement actions that promote intercultural dialogue, diversity and more inclusive societies.

During the open call, we received 22 proposals from 21 network members and 1 application from the non-member organisation Nema Problema. Three proposals oulinted a joint collaboration with other network members. 

The following organisations received the support: 

1. bMECTE* (Simrishamn)

Activity: What now?! Life Action Role Playing Game with youth

Two workshops with school children and youth, who will take part in a simulated game where they play as refugees. Starting with them having successfully navigated a long and treacherous path, they have finally arrived in Greece and need to find a place to settle down. But what is the best option? What way is safest? And how do you actually move through Europe to get where you hope to get?

City: Simrishamn and Malmö

Amount: 10,000 SEK

2. Ungdomsfronten (Södertälja)

Activity: Deliberation workshop for students at Umeå University

A workshop for youth to reflect on important social and cultural issues. The workshop aims to encourage dialogue and understanding between students from different backgrounds, allowing them to think critically and contribute to building more inclusive and respectful communities.

City: Umeå

Amount: 10,000 SEK

3. Proqvi (Ekeby)

Activity: Come, Join, Lead!

A series of workshops for second generation migrant youth on culture planning and administration.  

City: Helsingborg 

Dates: 15, 16, 22 and 23 March

Amount: 12,000 SEK

4. Well-being Lab (Malmö)

Activity: Urban Oasis: Rejuvenate Your Mind and Body in the Heart of Malmö

A series of workshops designed to restore balance and promote self-care, including guided meditation, journaling, heartfulness practices, holistic embodiment techniques, and a special session on burnout prevention. 

City: Malmö

Date: 10 - 11 March. Free entrance. 

Amount: 8,000 SEK

5. Creative Insights Studio (Helsingborg)

Activity: Middle Ground: Diversity & Inclusion in work space

A 1-day seminar addressing systemic barriers to diversity, equity, and inclusion in workplaces in Helsingborg, that aims to create meaningful dialogue among key stakeholders by connecting civil society organizations, businesses, recruiters, and policymakers. Researchers and experts from business and civil society will discuss challenges and best practices for creating inclusive workplaces and participants will be encouraged to discuss and co-create recommendations for diversity and inclusion strategies.

City: Helsingborg

Date: 13 March 

Amount: 12,000 SEK

6. Roteract Club Malmö-Lund International

Activity: Stories That Unite

The event will address themes of migration, diversity, and inclusion through the screening of a film that is centred around these topics. Participants will then be encouraged to share their reflections and discuss how the film’s themes relate to their own experiences. This event will foster greater understanding and empathy among participants from different cultural backgrounds and will help strengthen connections between community members and local organizations.

City: Malmö

Date: 6 March at 16.00. Free entrance. 

Amount: 8,000 SEK 

7. Assyrian Monitor for Human Rights (Norrköping)

Activity: Concert from the Middle East

An oriental music event in Motala focusing on Middle Eastern music and singing (Assyrian, Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish, Armenian). A band of five musicians and singers will perform a number of songs that the audience will be encouraged to dance to.

City: Motala

Date: 30 March 2025. Free entrance. 

Amount: 12,000 SEK

8. Ögonblicksteatern

Activity: Tillsammans mot ofrivillig ensamhet (Together against involuntary loneliness)

A lecture and workshop focusing on youth loneliness. In collaboration with BRIS, Ögonblicksteatern will develop methods for engaging young people. They will then incorporate their experiences into a theatre production premiering in October 2025.

City: Umeå

Date: 27 March at 09.00 - 15.00 CET

Amount: 9,000 SEK

9. Världen finns här (Göteborg) & LärOlika (Stockholm)

Activity: Bridging Worlds for Better Learning

Världen finns här and LärOlika are collaborating to facillitate workshops and meetings between employees and SFI (Swedish for immigrants) students in order to promote meaningful exchanges that enhance communication and broaden perspectives. Through workshops with Kivra and Impact Hub, they aim to incorporate diverse perspectives into design and social innovation, creating lasting model for inclusive, collaborative learning.

City: Gothenburg and Stockholm 

Date: 1 February (workshop with Impact Hub) 

Amount: 11,000 SEK 

10. Support Group Network* (Vännersborg) 

Activity: Kulturmuren 

This project aims to foster inclusion, cultural understanding, and empowerment among immigrants and newcomers. Through cultural activities like language cafés and cultural visits to museums, participants will be able to improve their language skills, build connections and gain a deeper understanding of Swedish society.

City: Gothenburg 

Dates: Language circles on 16, 19 and 23 February at 18.00. Wellbeing sessions with Zeina Coaching company on 20 and 26 February. Visit to the Natural History Museum on 15 February. Cultural event on 9 March. 

Amount: 12,000 SEK

11. Transeuropa Halles - International Resource Office (Lund) 

Activity: training for cultural actors in Lund with focus on diversity 

A workshop on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) for cultural organisations in Lund based on the Cultural Transformation Movement (CTM) project and in collaboration with Lund Municipality's Culture Department. By addressing key DEI topics like anti-racism, accessibility, and policy design, this initiative aims to initiate a long-term process for strengthening DEI in Lund's cultural sector.

City: Lund

Date: 26 March at 09 - 12 CET

Amount: 10,000 SEK

12. Fryshuset, Tillsammans för Sverige (Stockholm)

Activity: LIVEPODD Unga frågor Sveriges religiösa företrädare. Tro och samhälle

Fryshuset’s Tillsammans för Sverige, in collaboration with Sveriges Interreligiösa Råd (SIR), is launching a live podcast as a platform for young people to engage with religious leaders on key social issues. Each session invites representatives from various faiths to discuss topics like mental health, identity, and climate responsibility. This podcast aims to foster a dialogue on inclusion and diversity and to strengthen interfaith understanding among young people and the broader community. Programme presenter: journalist Soha Osman.  

City: Stockholm

Dates: 24 February at 18.00 - 20.00 CET, 10 March at 18.00 - 20.00, and 24 March at 18.00 - 20.00. 

Amount: 12,000 SEK
